My Latest single "Rinse Repeat" out 19th May

Hello friends!

I have some exciting news! My latest single "Rinse Repeat" (my first in nearly 3 years) will be released on all streaming services by this sunday 19th May. I will also be launching my song, as well as do a short 20 minute set at my old stomping ground, The Mr Boogie Man Bar on the same day as part of the Andrea Marr Music School (AMMS) student showcases. Entry is $10, but you also get the chance to watch 4 other amazing artists to perform as well as me!

I feel like Taylor Swift announcing not one but two surprise albums, when really it is only a song, haha! Big woop!

But in all seriousness, it has taken me long time to get back to where I am - and the journey hasn't been easy.

For those who don't know my story, I was feeling really disillusioned with the music industry nearly 3 years ago and 2 years ago, I was on the verge of quitting. Thankfully I was given the opportunity of a lifetime to join the sassy vocal trio group "The Treblettes" that I originally auditioned for back in 2021 (and failed the first time) , which opened up to other gigging opportunities which I forever be thankful for.

Yet despite receiving regular work as a paid performer, something was still missing, and I missed the joy of songwriting and recording and releasing my own original material, but I was too hesitant to write again, thinking that what I was going to produce would be another piece of crap that no-one would bother listening to.

Thankfully I persisted and through a single songwriting exercise I did at one of my regular songwriting classes, I actually had an idea for a song, and then it evolved from there.

You are probably asking "Why is the song called 'Rinse Repeat?'" Well the title actually came by accident. I was originally going to call the song "6am" because it was a repeated phrase that I kept using that was actually inspired by a Morgan Wallen song called "Last night" (which was a huge hit last year) and in one line, I used the phrase "rinse repeat" and Andrea said that I need to repeat that phrase again. So I played with the phrase until it eventually became my song title.

I wrote this song at a time where I was feeling a bit tired of doing the daily grind of getting up early nearly every morning, getting the kids dressed, taking them to school/kinder/chilldcare and then going to work and then repeating the whole cycle again (rinse repeat). Sometimes it is easy to put ourselves in auto pilot in order to get through the day unscathed, but sometimes after a while we take a good look at ourselves and we ask "who am I? Why am I here? How did I get here? What am I doing to do to change this if I could?"

As a 40 something year old woman, you are probably wondering if this is a cry from someone experiencing the throes of a midlife crisis, and you're probably right, however I think this song doesn't just apply to 40 something year olds but anyone who feels like they're wasting their life away and just wants to jumpstart their life before it becomes too late.

I hope you will enjoy this song, just as much as I have written and produced it, and hopefully this will lead to more releases that won't take me up to another 3 years to release!

If you want to presave my song prior to the date, you can click on the following link, otherwise hopefully i might see you at the showcase this sunday!
