Katie to release new single which is coming along swimmingly!
So, these past few months have been up and down due to snap lockdowns, resulting in cancelling and rescheduling gigs, going back to teaching online, however despite all of this, I am happy to announce that as of tomorrow, I will be releasing my latest single "Head Above Water", my first single since the end of 2018, and it's long overdue.
The last time I was in the recording studio was before I had kids, so it was great to get back and do what I love. The song was mixed and mastered by Markia (from Five One Entertainment) and Andrew Watts (the guitarist from "Touch") also put together the guitar and bass parts for the song, so a special thank you goes out to them.
I wrote this song last year when I was in our 2nd lockdown and at the time, I remember everyone getting into a frenzy about panic buying and how mental health issues were on the rise, and how the media was trying to sensationalise everything, and I was thinking to myself "Are things going to get any better?" So me writing this song was like my way of telling myself that no matter what people say to you, you've got to stay strong, not give into the fear, and keep your head above water so that you don't lose your sanity in these trying times.
I've also put together a music video to the song that will be available to view as of tomorrow so make sure you check it out.
Although my song will be available to stream for free on all online music platforms, for the first time, I will be setting up a Bandcamp link where you can download and purchase the song at a small free of only $1;50 (or you can pay at a higher rate depends on what you want to donate). Just visit https://katievisser.bandcamp.com/track/head-above-water?from=fanpub_fnb_trk and if you like what you hear, when please buy it. As artists, we've been hit pretty hard by COVID, so you making this small contribution means the world to us.
That's it from me. Look after yourselves and others.
With love and music
