Katie is back from maternity break, with some new projects along the way.
Happy new year friends, although 2019 probably doesn't feel new anymore!
I've had an awesome maternity break, and now I'm slowly getting back in the saddle by doing a few things. First of all, I've started off 2019 by offering singing lessons for beginner students and I'm happy to say that I've already got a few students, yet I am looking out for some more, so if you are interested in getting singing lessons, even if you've never sang before (apart from the shower) send me an email.
Secondly, as part of my role as Associate Teacher of the Andrea Marr Music School (AMMS), I have decided to expand my knowledge and enrol in a Diploma of Music. I'm halfway through term 1, and I'm learning a lot of great stuff, mainly on Music Improvisation and WHS.
Thirdly, I've just started rehearsing again with my band, the Peripheral Figures, and we're working on some new material for some gigs that we've got coming up, and we've just recruited a bass player for our band: Laurie Sprague, who also filled in as our bass player for my old band, Rogue Element when Monique was away. Check out all the dates in the "performance dates" page.
Lastly, this past year, I've been working a passion project that is slowly coming to fruition. At this stage, I'm hesitant to say anything, but let's just say it's something I've never done before and hopefully it will open doors for me in ways I could never have imagined.
So that's it for me. Hope 2019 turns out to be an awesome year of breakthrough for all of us.
luv Katie xx
