Ok, so it's been a week now since "Katie's 80s" has finished and the dust is just about to settle in, but I just wanted to take this opportunity to thank everyone who came along and supported me. We had such wonderful audiences who laughed and even cried during the show (hopefully it was a good cry) It has always been my dream to perform a full length cabaret show and doing this has given me a taste to do more, so brace yourself, because you are going to see more of me on the cabaret stage.

Some people have asked me if I am going to do an encore performance of "Katie's 80s" however at this stage, I cannot say. All...

This Saturday, I will be performing at the Junktion, with Nicholas Gray (my musical director for Katie's 80s) where I will be performing a selection of songs as part of my upcoming Cabaret show for the Melbourne Fringe Festival. There will be special guest performances by my old music buddies, Mark Gardner, Kat O, Stacey Lorraine and Jamie McLennan. Tickets are $10 entry and the show starts at 8:30pm, so if you love 80s music and you wanna hear some original local talent, why don't you...

Hey guys

After much consideration, we have decided to change the name of our trio band (formally "Katie's Bitchin' Kitchen"), especially as it's still early days and we need to get our band name right. We've decided to go with the name "Peripheral Figures". I think I heard the phrase used in conversation on TV and I think it adds an element of mystery and intrigue. Anywho, we've just started our Facebook page, and we'd really love it if you could support us by liking our page. Here's the link

Over the last few weeks, I have been practising with my new trio band (Katie's Bitchin Kitchen) consisting of Monique Kenny on guitar and Nathaniel Visser (my hubby) on percussion.

Although it has been a blast, it is rather unfortunate that we have to disband Rogue Element and say goodbye to our guitarists, Tom and Chris for the time being. It has been a wonderful journey making beautiful music together, however we do believe it is for the best and we wish them both the very best in their musical and personal lives.

With that said, we have our first gig as a trio on tomorrow night at Musicland in Fawkner featuring...

On Saturday 29th April, I performed my cabaret show "Katie's 80s" at the renowned Butterfly Club in Melbourne, and it was magic (apart from suffering a mini panic attack a quarter of the way through. Thankyou to everyone who came. Check out my teaser trailer that I'm using as part of my application as part of the Melbourne Fringe Festival which I am hoping to officially premiere at. More details to come.

Another exciting thing coming up is my upcoming cabaret debut. Here's a brief overview:

"Katie is obsessed with the 80s. She grew up belting out power ballads about complicated relationships, and soon discovered she started to live them.
Join her as she shares her story, and tells you how to navigate the battlefield of love through songs from her favourite 80s icons, from Tina Turner to Kate Bush."

After workshopping it as part of the Cabaret Showcases and performed a 25 minute sample at Chapel off Chapel in February last year, I put it on the shelf for nearly 9 months then I revisited it later on in the year and I've...

Hi guys. sorry it has taken me soooo long to write an update. My publicity and marketing skills are not my biggest strength.

Our last gig at the Mr Boogie Man Bar went very well considering Nathaniel (my hubby) and I had only been back from our overseas holiday for a week and it was on a Thursday night. We had a crowd of 14 people which mainly consisted of close friends and family (the kind of people who will always have your back) and we added two new covers to our set: Total Control by the Motels and Black Velvet by Alannah Myles.

Our other special guests were Rosie Haden who opened the show with her velvety vocals an...
